Jury Selection Begins in Marcus Allen Murder Trial

DENVER — Jury selection is underway in the murder trial of Timothy Boham, who stands accused of the 2006 murder of Colorado businessman John Kelso. Boham is known to gay adult as performer Marcus Allen. He is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

Kelso, 43, was killed in his home in early November 2006. A housekeeper found his body in a bathtub on November 13. Three days later, Allen, 27, was arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border in Lukeville, Ariz. by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials and returned to Colorado.

Kelso was president of Professional Recovery Systems, and had recently hired Boham as a debt collector. Detectives continue to investigate their relationship, according to a recent media report. At the time of his arrest, Boham told police he needed money to support his then-pregnant girlfriend.

According to an Associated Press report, "previously released court documents indicate Boham told his mother and sister he tried to rob Kelso of $400,000 he thought Kelso kept in a safe, but that Boham said his gun fired accidentally."

The day after Kelso's body was discovered, Boham’s sister Katherine allegedly contacted Denver police and said Boham had confessed to the murder.

In May 2007, defense attorneys indicated Boham could plead insanity. In court documents, his lawyers claimed Boham is bipolar and prone to fits of rage and that the murder was not premeditated. Boham has been held without bail in the Denver County Jail. Colorado statue states that a first-degree murder charge is a no-bond charge.

Boham appeared in roughly 13 films between 2003 and 2005 as Marcus Allen, including "Ripe" (All Worlds Video), "Never Been Touched" (Rascal Video) and "Through the Woods" (Falcon Studios).

A former Studio 2000 exclusive, Allen was named "Freshman of the Year" by Freshmen magazine in its June 2003 edition, and is featured in the photobook "Hot: The Men of Hot House" He also appeared in a 2006 Playgirl magazine pictorial.
